Welcome to The Rookeries Carleton Junior, Infant & Nursery School

                                Head of School's Message

Our school provides a warm, supportive environment in which our dedicated and hardworking team of staff is committed to developing the whole child and children are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The school is proud and pleased to be able to have the Wakefield Local Authority Primary Resource for deaf and hearing impaired pupils based at the school.  It is the only primary resource within the authority, and there are currently places for 16 pupils.

As part of Pontefract Academies Trust we work together with other schools to achieve aspirational and continuously improving outcomes for learners through structured collaborative working.

We hope that you find our website gives you enough information to choose us as the place where your child can be a successful and happy learner however the best way to get a feel for life at The Rookeries is by coming to visit and we look forward to meeting you.

Thank you

Miss Nicola Ellwand

Head of School
